FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- API Marine (API) launched the Scan Tool 4000 this month exclusively for its dealers. The tool provides quick and reliable diagnostic information on the most common makes and models of marine propulsion systems and costs only a fraction of existing scan tools currently on the market.
"One of API's core missions is to support the independent dealers and marine mechanics,” said API's owner, Greg Pickren. “The cost of marine scanner tools historically have been ridiculously high in the thousands of dollars price range and we set out to change that.”
API’s general manager, Brian Schneider stated, “The program we have put together is rather simple. The complete tool and carrying case cost only $395. API dealers that spend over $2,500 per year on rotating electric parts such as power trim motors, alternators, and starters get free annual scan tool software licenses and updates for all the major applications.”
The Scan Tool 4000 comes complete with nine cables and software for all major applications such as Mercury, Mercruiser, Yamaha, Evinrude/Johnson and Suzuki. Its features include ECU identification, engine system testing, and component actuation. Licenses and updates are free through December 2015 with the initial purchase.Click here for reuse options!
