S.C. Marine Association integrates with NMMA

CHICAGO – The South Carolina Marine Association (SCMA) has integrated with the National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) and is now NMMA South Carolina.

NMMA President, Thom Dammrich, noted, “The integration with SCMA provides synergies with the larger marine industry in this important boating region. We plan to explore new growth opportunities for all members where we can leverage our extensive event production and marketing communications experience. Additionally, our government relations and advocacy, market research and statistics, and certification programs will bring new opportunities and create exciting change for our South Carolina boating community.”

To guide the specific needs of NMMA’s members in South Carolina, which includes marine manufacturers, dealers and retailers, SCMA’s Board of Directors will become an Advisory Board to NMMA. Suzi DuRant, SCMA’s previous Executive Director, will remain involved as the Executive Director of NMMA South Carolina to ensure the needs of the South Carolina boating community are being addressed.

Suzi can be reached at sdurant@nmma.org or 843.889.9067. She will be working closely with NMMA staff to begin introducing South Carolina members to NMMA’s resources. For questions on NMMA’s role in South Carolina please contact Jennifer Thompson, NMMA’s association marketing director, at jthompson@nmma.org.
