NMEA’s annual conference returns to Fort Myers

FORT MYERS, Fla. — The National Marine Electronics Association (NMEA) has announced that the 2014 NMEA International Marine Electronics Conference & Expo will return to the Sanibel Harbour Marriott Resort, in Fort Myers, Florida, on October 8–11. The resort was the site of the 2011 NMEA event.

“Our 2014 NMEA conference and expo will focus on training, new product introductions, and developments in the technology of marine electronics,” said Johnny Lindstrom, NMEA’s interim executive director and chairman of the board. “This event also provides dealers nationwide with the best face-to-face contact with manufacturers.”

The NMEA conference and expo, Lindstrom pointed out, has been completely reorganized to provide more education and business opportunities for attending dealers and participating manufacturers. The industry has responded the past two years with record attendance and record participation in the beefed-up training classes. The NMEA conference and expo is the largest event in North America for the marine electronics trade.

“We’ve changed everything about the conference to make certain that dealers and technical personnel find it a rewarding training and educational experience that they must not miss,” said Brad Good, chairman of the conference committee.

The 2014 NMEA International Marine Electronics Conference & Expo is expected to attract more than 600 dealers, technicians, distributors, manufacturers, and others who design, build, install, and service marine electronics for the nation’s fleets of recreational and commercial vessels.

The conference and expo will showcase the best in marine electronics in an 11,000-square-foot exhibit area. Many manufacturers will use the event to unveil their new products for the coming year, Lindstrom said.To see complete details and to register, please see NMEA.org.
