Freeport Marine Supply announces 75th anniversary customer appreciation event

FREEPORT, N.Y. — Freeport Marine Supply, a family owned company specializing in selling boating equipment and supplies, will be commemorating its 75th Anniversary along with representatives of the Village of Freeport, the Town of Hempstead and Nassau County. The Freeport Chamber of Commerce will be on hand to perform an official ceremony and the US Coast Guard Auxiliary will be there to answer customer questions and offer advice on vessel safety and equipment requirements. Special discounts will be offered along with customer raffles and manufacturers’ rebates. Refreshments and hot dogs will be served. The event is scheduled take place on Saturday, April 5, at noon.

“We’re excited to be celebrating our 75th Anniversary with those who have made it possible; our customers, many of whom first shopped at Freeport Marine Supply with their grandparents,” said Justin Ross, the third generation owner/operator. The Village of Freeport will issue a novelty check refunding the original $25 deposit plus interest required to establish electric service in 1939. Nassau County and the Town of Hempstead will be presenting citations commemorating this important milestone.

Freeport Marine Supply was founded by Arthur Ross in 1939 and has resided at its current location since 1956.
