NMMA encourages members to apply, join NOAA Saltwater Recreational Fisheries Working Group
NOAA Fisheries is currently accepting applications for appointment to the Recreational Fishing Work Group of NOAA’s Marine Fisheries Advisory Committee. Applications will be accepted through January 22, 2014.
The Advisory Committee established a Recreational Fisheries Working Group in 2010 to assist in the development of recommendations to the Secretary of Commerce on regulations, policies and programs critical to the mission and goals of NOAA. Sixteen seats on this 25 person working group are currently occupied by representatives whose terms will expire at the end of 2013.
The appointees from this solicitation will serve for two years. Over the next year the working group members will work collaboratively with NOAA Fisheries’ Regional Recreational Fisheries Coordinators and the National Recreational Fisheries Engagement Initiative Team in planning the 2014 Saltwater Recreational Fisheries Summit.
