New Model Makes World Debut at Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show

October 31, 2013 – Washington, N.C. – Baja Marine is proud to announce its first-ever outboard-powered line: the Baja Outlaw Outboard series. The first boat in this groundbreaking new concept in family-friendly performance boating, the 2014 Baja 26 Outlaw Outboard made its world debut today at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show.

“We have been seeing a lot of customer demand for outboard-powered versions of Baja’s popular Outlaw high-performance series,” said Johnny Walker, CEO of Baja Marine, Inc. “With Mercury’s powerful and reliable Verado outboards on the market, we felt that now was the time.”

The 2014 Baja 26 Outlaw Outboard is powered by twin Mercury Verado 300s with hydraulic power steering, which provide it with a top speed of 70 mph. The boat also is available with twin Verado 200s with hydraulic steering and twin Verado 225s with hydraulic power steering. In converting the 26 Outlaw to an outboard configuration, Baja’s design team transformed the boat’s former sterndrive engine compartment into a high-volume storage space with wakeboard rack and a box for Coast Guard-required equipment. The 26 Outboard also features a comfortable forward cuddy cabin where kids can nap and adults can take a break from the sun.

The first 26 Outlaw Outboard also showcases Baja’s optional sport arch and its dramatic new X2 package, which is sure to turn heads on the water and in the marina. In includes the following:

  • Custom hull color w/X2 hullside graphics in vivid colors
  • Color-matched sunpad
  • Color-matched carbon fiber dash
  • Powdercoat rails
  • Custom Plexiglas windshield venturi
  • Custom LED lighting and underwater lights.

Big time Baja fan.......but wow! They missed the opportunity for a roomier cockpit and what's up with the color choice on the photo 26? The ski tower should be reversed to compliment the boat and especially the owner/ driver.

As far as Baja's first ever outboard line? It's amazing how history gets overlooked

Where do you guy get your information? Baja sold outboards years ago (they were packaged with Yamaha's). I know... I was a dealer.

Yes should be a hot item just what the baja buyer is looking for a 160,000 26 foot boat

I sold a lot of Baja's back in the early 80's if we are talking the same company Doug Smith owned in Bucyrus, OH. We were putting big Mercury Outboards on them and they were fast.
