Harbortown Marine of Vermilion, Ohio, has expanded its business, adding 1,165 square feet to its indoor retail space to start off its 20th year in business.

The company said the expansion will increase square footage to 3,665 for indoor retail operations, excluding space devoted to boat storage, service work and an additional storage building.

Experiencing year-over year sales growth, even through the economic downturn, owners Russ and Jody Imars attributed the growth of sales and the business to focus on customers.

“We want our customers to get the right item, at a good price, every day,” the company said in interview with local media. “We don’t up-sell, we ask questions and offer suggestions based on our customers’ needs, even if it means selling something that’s less expensive. Our focus is our reputation, keeping our customers happy and coming back, not the fast buck.”
