Boating Industry Top 100 dealer Hurst Marina is joining up with Ed Huck Marine in a new sales partnership.

For many years now Hurst Marina has built up a significant presence in the 1000 Islands and Lake Ontario with an “At Your Dock Service” featuring well-equipped service vans and expert technicians. Through this Hurst had already developed a successful service relationship with Ed Huck Marine.

EHM is located in Rockport, the hub of the 1000 Islands and provides full marina services to the populations that reside along the 401 corridor that connects Montreal and Toronto.

Forming the new partnership with EHM allows Hurst to extend its reach from their current location on the Rideau without compromising standards, the companies said. The goal of the partnership is to further enhance the Sea Ray and Meridian brands in the 1000 islands. Hurst and EHM have drawn up an agreement that integrates each other into their sales teams and allows Hurst to display and demo Meridian and Sea Ray sport cruisers and yachts on bigger water.

“Being able to harness the expertise of a third generation business, in a way that benefits both parties, is a formula that has already proven to be worthwhile,” said Mark Hurst, co-owner of Hurst Marina.

Scott MacCrimmon, co-owner of EHM, has already sold a 37-foot Sea Ray Sundancer to an existing EHM customer who had never been to Hurst Marina’s dealership. This customer had previously only shopped south of the border for his boat purchases.

Some highlights of the partnership agreement:

  • Combined social events – helping everyone enjoy fun on the water.
  • Sea Ray and Meridian demo’s on big water for the bigger boats.
  • Shared mailings to each other’s database, Twitter followers and Facebook communities.
  • Shared new, used and brokered boat inventory listings.
  • Agreed priority servicing of Hurst/EHM customers.
  • EHM has full service marina facilities, supporting the demands of Hurst Marina’s “At Your Dock Service” vans and personnel.
  • On-water and on-land displays for Sea Rays and for Meridian Yachts at Ed Huck Marine’s Historic location in Rockport Ontario.
  • Shared prospect and lead management to meet every patron’s expectations.
  • Agreed referrals to each other’s facilities for storage, dockage, haul out and shrinkwrap.

The Thousand Islands and Rideau Area residents need strong marina operators, thus this is good news for both regions. Congratulations.
