Hawley Communications Recognized for Excellence in Marine Marketing Communications

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: LAKE CITY, SC. February 21, 2013) – GEMECO Marine Accessories is pleased to announce winning the prestigious Neptune Award for its full-page ‘Conductor Ad’ created by Hawley Communications, LLC.

Marine Marketers of America (MMA) announced the winners of its fifth-annual 2012 Neptune Awards for Marketing Excellence during NMMA’s State of the Recreational Boating Industry breakfast held during the Miami International Boat Show and Strictly Sail. The award for Best National Magazine Advertising was presented to Suzanne Hawley, owner of Hawley Communications.

The judges praised this unique B2B ad, saying that it successfully broke through the clutter by avoiding the traditional boat photography and copy. “The design cleverly includes dozens of supplier logos without overwhelming the header and copy. The concept is clear and the call to action strong,” stated Wanda Kenton Smith, president of MMA.

“We are extremely honored with the recognition for our new advertising campaign,” stated Peter Braffitt, General Manager of GEMECO Marine Accessories. Our customers have responded really well to our new branding efforts and the manufacturers we represent are gaining tremendous visibility as a result of the new ad.
