Attendance at three of the NMMA's latest boat shows has been up and down, but media coverage has been strong from local media outlets at all regional boat shows.

Louisville Boat Show, Strictly Sail Chicago

Attendance at the Louisville Boat Show, held Jan. 23 through Jan. 27, was even with 2012 attendance bringing in 35,545 attendees over the course of the five-day event. Attendance at Strictly Sail Chicago, held Jan. 24 through Jan. 27, was down 6 percent compared to 2012, with 14,366 visitors over the four-day event.

Show organizers reported that crowds have been steady at both events with sales and leads strong for exhibitors. Below are some links to local media coverage of each of the events.

Minneapolis Boat Show

Attendance at the Minneapolis Boat Show was up for a second year, with attendance reaching 36,642 visitors between Jan. 31 and Feb. 3. Reports from show organizers and quotes from dealers indicate neither snowy weather and slick roads or big NFL games could deter visitors from attending the event.

Boating Industry was at the Minneapolis Boat Show to speak with the NMMA and show organizers about how the group designs events at boat shows for all levels of boaters to provide them with an escape from the cold weather and put warm sunny thoughts on the mind.

Below are some quotes from show exhibitors along with additional media coverage of the event.

“We have already had our best year at the Minneapolis Boat Show ever, and it is only Friday.  We sold three boats between 9 p.m.-10 p.m. opening night.” Bill Hagge, Crystal Pierz Tracker Boat Center

“By the end of Saturday we doubled our boat sales from last year. Congratulations to the Boat Show team, you have done a great job!” Clark Boone, Cobalt Boats

“We are on pace to have the best Friday we have ever had at this show.” Jay Rasmusson, Marine Max
